Will I like blogging?
Like most people I like reading, watching films, and listening to music. I also like an easy life. So I quite like the idea of *just* reading, watching films, and listening to music. I even tried doing just these things. But, in practice, this led to a feeling that my life was lacking something, and the feeling that some kind of activity was needed.
I'm quite peripatetic, so it wasn't physical activity that was lacking. What I needed was more mental activity. Of course mentally activity is demanding, and I wouldn't want my ease disturbed! But being mentally inactive has led to boredom, and that state of unease needs to be eradicated.

I'm mostly retired because I don't like the activity that comes with "normal" jobs. My most recent job involved creating commercial websites from home, without any demanding bosses or co-workers to upset my ease. But I can no longer face creating websites just for money. It gets pretty tedious, and I am not in desperate need of money. So I've decided to try a different tack... to only write about things that I *really* like, in a way that I *really* like. Hence this blog.
A little income would be useful, to keep my lifestyle more Marks & Spencer than Lidl. Therefore, I will introduce a commercial aspect to this blog. But it will be very light, mainly involving links to sites selling stuff that I like.

Things I really like
Examples of things I really like are the music of Mozart, and the novels of Charles Dickens. Try reading chapters of David Copperfield, interspersed with Mozart's third violin concerto, and similar works. Does life get better than this? Of course there is only so much Mozart, and so much Dickens. More is needed, and this blog will be about my quest for "more", both the failures and the successes.
So far...
Writing this blog, so far, is fun and seems to provide a mentally active dimension that was lacking, so I'll probably continue to write.
